Are laws all about implementation?

There have always been complaints regarding legal implementation in Pakistan and India. The legal system is known to be highly unreliable and ineffective. People say that the authority figures that are assigned to protect the citizens actually do more harm to them than to ensure their safety and well being.

To what extent do you agree with this statement? Is it possible that all the officers are corrupt and not even one of them is an honest government servant who does his/her job with an honest approach? Do they all take bribes? Can you really get away with anything if you are a wealthy or influential personality in these countries?

Rather than complain and point fingers on other people why don’t we start with fixing our own errors and bad habits? Shouldn’t we make a change in ourselves before criticizing and raising fingers on others? If something bothers us so much we ourselves should take a step forward to change it rather than expecting others to do so. Why is it that people follow laws in the when they go abroad but trash their homeland and then the same people complain about how bad their country is? Why not start correcting ourselves before cribbing?

Why do we never litter in a foreign country but trash our own? Even if a trash can is near most of us will not make the effort to discard our waste in the bin but will toss it over our shoulder or throw it out the car window but in a foreign country we will make the effort to look for a dustbin because we know we are going to pay a hefty fine if we don’t. Why are we never punctual in our own country but make it a point to be a little ahead of time in a foreign country? Is it because we know people will not wait for us because they have better things to do? Why do we drive without a seatbelt in Pakistan but we do not dare break these rules and regulations abroad?

What is the reason behind following the law abroad but not in our own country? Why is it easy getting away with breaking the law in these countries but almost impossible abroad? Are we to blame for the bad conditions of our country or is the government at fault? If we have problems with something why don’t we make an effort to change it rather than to complain about it?
