It’s payback time!
The question is that when these same parents grow old and need our love and support why can’t we be there for them? Why can’t we return the love and kindness that they bestowed upon? While most people love their parents from childhood to adulthood others treat them with utmost disrespect and leave them alone when they are needed most by them. They get irritated and appear very rudely in front of the two people responsible for their very existence in this world. As we grow up why do we forget all things our parents have done for us? Why don’t we realize that if we are educated and successful today it is only because of their support and upbringing? Our parents are supposed to be the two people we are closer to than anyone else in the world. It is natural for people who are growing old to forget things, become cranky and repeat things non-stop. It’s just how God has designed us to be. Some people even say old age is like a second child hood. Adults become senile at a later stage and start acting like little children all over again. If our parents can look after us while we were babies why can’t we do the same for them when they grow old and become helpless? Don’t you think that we owe it to them for making us who we are today? Its way beyond my understanding when those who are financially stable and living in the same city as their parents send them off to old age homes just because they don’t want to bear with the nagging and hassle. See how callous some people can be : http://247online.tv/247onlinetv/messages-247onlinetv/happy-new-year-edhi-foundation-pakistan/ Isn’t it our duty to be responsible and look after our parents? How can people have the heart to disrespect their old helpless parents and send them off to old age homes? Why do we behave in such a cruel manner with the two people who are responsible for our success and existence? |
