I thought this would only happen in movies but someone has actually attempted to do so.

It turns out, there is another unusual way of escaping prison: riding in a zipped suitcase.

A Mexican teenager has been arrested who was trying to smuggle her husband out of jail.

Police in Quintana Roo, Mexico, say the girl was present there for a conjugal visit.  When she was leaving, the prison staff in Chetumal noticed that she was pulling a black bulky suitcase on wheels.

The staff observed that she was nervous on her return from her husband’s cell.

They immediately asked to inspect Maria del Mar Arjona’s suitcase and found her partner, Juan Ramirez Tijerina curled up inside – partially unclothed.

Ramirez, is serving a 20 year sentence for the possession of illegal weapons.
