So You are Dating an Idiot. Now What?
1. Not Really an idiot. It is easy to become frustrated with members of the opposite sex, because they do not think like you do. Something that may seem obvious to you is not to them. When trying to get your point across, be aggressive, but consider their feelings, as well. It is a hard balance to maintain, but if you handle it just right, your significant other should make changes.
2. Sometimes, you will just have to make the first move.Being an idiot means they are completely clueless. Do not sit around waiting for them to make the first move, because they very likely are not even thinking about the same thing you are. Get your point across – you want some alone time? A little trickery is something they will very well appreciate in the end.
3. You may not be as clued in as you think. If you have a lot of nasty things to say about your lover, chances are they do not have a lot of nice things to say about you. Remember that there are two sides to every story – try finding out what his side is. You never know, he may think you’re the idiot in the relationship.
4. What do your friends say?Have you spoken about your problems to a friend and they only help in pointing out more problems? It is great to have someone on your side, but sometimes friends are not as helpful as you would like to think. If you are completely frustrated, try speaking to someone who you know has been in a solid relationship for a long time – fifteen to twenty years, if possible. They will probably have plenty of idiot stories to share that could help you with yours.
5. Break it off.You may love them, but if you have tried everything to get them to take a hint – from getting a job to getting intimate – then the best thing you can do is move on. Not only is it something that you need, but this action may just be enough to kick your counterpart into gear. Who knows, if it is really worth it to them, they may come back. If not, you’re both better off.

Not all members of the opposite sex are idiots, even though they have their moments where we may believe this is so. Dating an idiot consists of someone who is unacquainted with the dating scene, who thinks the many times you say, “let’s get serious” means let’s have a roll in the hay (or he is still clueless about that). Do you find yourself explaining to your partner exactly what you want, and they still do not get it. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you realize you are dating an idiot.
