Topic: Soldiers not punished as equals?

Description: The unnamed American soldier who recently killed 16 Afghan civilians has now been flown to Kuwait. Why you ask? Well, according to the news he shall be trialled in a place other than Afghanistan. Also, the same day, two Pakistani UN peacekeepers had been sentenced to imprisonment for a year because they had raped a teenager from Haiti. Sources also say that they have been court martialed.

The UN has called it a small step towards eliminating this crime. Alright, the Pakistani soldiers did commit a crime. They have been served rightly, but what about the American who took innocent lives? Shouldn’t he be punished as well? How come the UN, NATO forces or America in particular, have punished him yet?

Can you get away with a crime as deadly as murder just because you have a the nationality of a country that is a super power? Is that justified?
