What do students do when they bunk school?

Most schools have a common rule which is if a student comes a few minutes after the bell rings they are asked to return home and not allowed to enter school. How does this rule make any sense at all? How is that punishing a child for coming in late, most of them would love to have an extra day off and would purposely come in late next time so that they would be sent home? Wouldn’t it be sensible if the late students were allowed to come in and then given a punishment to face such as writing an essay that they really would want to avoid. Such consequences will force them to start coming on time.

When these students are sent home from school, the older ones  they don’t go straight home but usually take off from school and then go for breakfast plans, to a friend’s house or a drive with the group of friends. At times arriving late altogether is also planned a night before.

Schools fail to understand the plot behind all the friends arriving late even though it is so obvious. Schools must understand that by enforcing such a rule they are not teaching their students anything but giving them the freedom to party when they should be made to realize the importance of coming on time.

Some of these students also end up at these numerous shisha café’s where they waste their time gossiping and smoking the shisha which is also very injurious to their health. Another very big distraction for these students is the various gaming arena’s that have opened up everywhere. They like to bunk school and then end up at gaming parlors where they play games all day long and miss out on their school work having no regrets whatsoever at the end of the day.

Do you think sending the students home if they arrive late is the right thing to do? Do you feel punishing them by making them do some extra work would be a better idea?  Do you feel gaming parlor and shisha café’s are distracting the youth and putting them of focus? What are your views regarding them?
