World Water Day 2011

World Water Day is being celebrated today on the 22^nd of March, 2011.  The main theme of this year’s water day is to focus international attention on the impact of rapid urban population growth, industrialization and uncertainties caused by climate change, conflicts and natural disasters on urban water systems. The rural areas supply water to urban where there is no proper water management.  There is extensive use of water by people living in the cities.  While the people in the urban areas are neglected from this resource.  That is why IFAD is promoting essential water management practices.
